Professor Sundeep Sahay
Sundeep Sahay is a Professor of Informatics at the Department of Informatics, University of Oslo, Norway, since 1999. His research interest is in the domain of design, development and implementation of open source based health information systems in developing countries. He has worked in more than 15 countries in Asia and Africa in this domain, and has supervised about 20 doctoral studies on this subject. Together with his colleague Jorn Braa, he has in 2012 co-authored the book titled "Integrated Health Information Architecture: Power to the users".

   

Dr. Alvin Marceloro
Dr. Alvin B. Marcelo is a general and trauma surgeon by training who is currently senior vice-president and chief information officer of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth). Prior to this appointment, he was the director of the University of the Philippines Manila National Telehealth Center. Right after residency training, he took his postdoctoral fellowship in medical informatics at the National Library of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland with research interests in telepathology, mobile computing, and bibliometric analysis of MEDLINE content. Upon return, he established the Master of Science in Health Informatics program in the University. He is presently the manager of the International Open Source Network for ASEAN+3, a centre of excellence in free and/or open source software established by UNDP, and he manages the Community Health Information Tracking System (or CHITS) , a Stockholm Challenge finalist in the health category in 2006. He is the Philippine representative to the Asia Pacific Association for Medical Informatics (APAMI), the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) and chair of the Asia eHealth Information Network.


Mark Landry
 

Mr. Mark Landry

Regional Advisor, Health Situation and Trend Assessment, Dept. of Health Systems Development, SEARO, WHO
Mark Landry was the Coordinator of the Health Intelligence and Innovation Unit in the WHO Western Pacific Regional Office. Mr Landry provides technical support to countries in Asia and the Pacific with planning and design of national eHealth and health information systems investments and provides assistance with the development and implementation of standards-based, scalable, and reusable eHealth solutions. Mr Landry collaborates with development partners and supports networks of professionals to strengthen country coordination mechanisms for better eHealth policies, strategies, plans, governance, and institutional capacity. Mr Landry previously held positions with PEPFAR and USAID implementing partners as senior health informatics specialist.


 

Mr. Muhunthan Canagey
Mr. Muhunthan Canagey, is the Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer of the Information Communication & Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA). He has been in the ICT industry for over two decades and is one of the country’s youngest entrepreneurs. He stepped into the field of IT at a very young age of 16. Canagey holds a Master’s Degree in Information Technology from the University of Keelle (UK) and has extensive knowledge of the industry.
He was the founder and CEO of multiple technology enterprises and was the founder and CEO of a highly successful enterprise in the area of satellite communication and media: a first of this nature to be formed in Sri Lanka. He has been very successful in productising software applications developed in Sri Lanka and in formulating strategies and policies for taking local products to the international market.


 

Dr. Palitha Mahipala 
Dr. Palitha Mahipala is the Director General Health Services, Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka. Dr. Mahipala who has served as the Director of the Ragama Teaching Hospital, as a Deputy Director General and as the Additional Secretary to the Health Ministry has over 18 years of service in the medical administrative field.






 

Mr. Jayantha Fernando
Mr. Jayantha Fernando is the Director & Legal Advisor at Information and Communication Technology Agency ICTA). He is an attorney and holds a specialized Masters Degree (LLM) in IT & Communications Law from the University of London, which he read whilst on a prestigious British Chevening Scholarship.
He was actively involved with the “e-Sri Lanka Development Project” from the very inception, as a member of the Steering Committee of the design team, and then joining the implementation team. He was instrumental in driving some of the key policy and legislative reforms, most notably the drafting of Electronic Transactions Act (2006), Computer Crimes Act (2007) and advised the formulation of the Payment Devices Frauds Act of 2006 and Payment & Settlement Systems Act of 2005. He was also one of the architects of key institutional models that resulted in the establishment of the ICT Agency, to implement e-Sri Lanka, as well as Sri Lanka CERT.

 
  Mr. Kanishka Yapa
Mr. Kanishka Yapa has obtained a B.Sc. Degree in science from University of Colombo and an M.Sc on Computer Science for University of Kelaniya. Kanishka is a CISSP -Certified Information Systems Security Professional, CISA -Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and has been involved in handling many security incidents and designing secure networks in both government and private sector. He was a key member of assessing and recommending a virtualization solution for the GIDC. He is primarily focused at IT Security Policy adaptations for government departments in addition to conducting vulnerability assessments and incident handling related work at CERT.  He’s got more than six years experience in IT Security . As part of information security awareness activities he serves as secretary of the local (ISC)2 chapter named (ISC)2 Sri Lanka Chapter.


  Dr. Champika Wickramasinghe
Dr. Wickramasinghe is the Director, Health Information and acting Senior Assistant Secretary – Medical Services in the Ministry of Health Sri Lanka. Having worked as a Medical Administrator for the past 12 years holding key administrative posts including that of Director Planning, Director International Health and Medical superintendent  DGH Negombo, she possess an in depth understanding of the intricacies of the state health sector. She is also presently involved in several large scale projects as the Project Director viz. SHSDP, JICA, in the Ministry of Health. She is the present Vice-President of the College of Medical Administrators and a member of the Specialty Board for Biomedical Informatics at the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo.
 


  Dr. Shariq Khoja
Dr. Shariq Khoja is an innovator, researcher, and entrepreneur in the use of Technology for improving Health. He leads both research and commercial operations of Tech4Life Enterprises, which is a socially motivated organization with the mission to improve health of the population through Telemedicine and Point-of-care diagnostics. His past experience includes working as the Adviser on Evidence, Capacity and Policy at the mHealth Alliance, United Nations Foundation, and Director of the eHealth Resource Center for the Aga Khan Development Network in Nairobi, Kenya and Karachi, Pakistan. Dr. Shariq Khoja got his medical degree from Aga Khan University, and M.Sc and PhD in Health Research and Global eHealth from University of Calgary, Canada. He has led eHealth initiatives in over 10 countries across Asia and Africa, along with leading the PAN Asian Collaboration for evidence-based e-Health Adoption and Application (PANACeA), a network funded by International Development Resource Center Canada for supporting collaborative research in several Asian countries. He has been the recipient of several awards, such as Rising Star in Global Health by Grand Challenges Canada, and Grand Challenges award for improving mental health in Northern Afghanistan. Dr. Shariq Khoja has written over 50 papers and book chapters, acquired 7 patents, and published tools for organizational readiness assessment, and evaluation of eHealth initiatives.



  Professor Tony Sahama
Senior Lecturer at the Science and Engineering Faculty of Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane Australia. His educational qualifications include Doctor of Philosophy (Victoria Uni of Tech), MPhil (University of Sri Lanka), Master of Education (Higher Education) (Queensland University of Technology), Master of Migration Law & Practices (Griffith University) and B.Sc. (University of Sri Lanka). Research interests cover a broad range of real world needs for Healthcare Information Technology (HIT).



  Associate Professor Elizabeth Borycki
Associate Professor in Health Information Science at the University of Victoria, Victoria, Canada. Her qualifications include RN, HBScN (Lakehead), MN (Manitoba), PhD (Toronto). She teaches organizational behaviour and change management, systems evaluation, quality improvement, research methods and biomedical fundamentals in the undergraduate and graduate programs. Her Research Interests include Information Seeking and Information Needs, Disease Management Informatics, Using Technology to Implement Clinical Guidelines, Patient Safety (applied to Health Informatics), Geroinformatics, Nursing, Medical and Consumer Informatics and Organizational informatics.



  Ms. Joanne Foster
Lecturer at the Faculty of Health; School – Nursing of Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane Australia. Her Qualifications include Masters of Education Technology (University of Southern Qld), Grad Dip in Clinical Education (University of New South Wales), BNurs (Queensland University of Technology), DipAppSc(NursingEducation) (Queensland University of Technology), RN (Other) and Renal Nursing Certificate (Other). Her research interests are Education technology, Health/nursing informatics and Nephrology nursing.


 
  Ms. Maree Bauld
Maree is an Academic with the School Health Sciences (formally School of Nursing and Midwifery), Faculty of Health, at the University of Tasmania. She has held this position for 10 years and is currently the Bachelor of Health Course Coordinator and Acting Coordinator of Professional Experience Placement, prior to undertaking this role she was the Bachelor of Nursing Course Coordinator. Maree has undertaken Unit Coordination and lecturing across numerous nursing and health related subjects. She completed her Master of Education in 2012 and has a Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching for Health Professionals. Maree’s research interests include simulation and technology and gender equity.
Prior to her academic career Maree worked as a Registered Nurse for around 20 years obtaining a Master of Clinical Nursing in 2005 specialising in Intensive/Critical Care Nursing, She also worked as a Nurse Educator during her career. Maree has predominantly worked as a clinician in the acute care sector, in Tasmania.
